Accountants for Partnerships and LLPs.

Partnership tax returns, each partner's share and LLP accounts, handled in one place.

Running a business with other people should be about the work, not untangling who owes what tax. WPC Accountants looks after the whole picture for partnerships, from the partnership tax return to each partner's personal return, so everyone knows where they stand. Whether you are an ordinary partnership, a limited liability partnership or a joint venture, we keep it accurate, fair and on time.

Tax explained

How is a partnership taxed?

A partnership does not pay tax itself. Instead, the profit is shared between the partners according to your agreement, and each partner pays Income Tax and Class 4 National Insurance on their own share through Self Assessment. The partnership files one SA800 return to report the total profit and the split, then the figures flow onto each partner's personal return. We handle both sides so they always match.

Partnership agreement

Get your profit split in writing

Worth doing early: a clear partnership agreement setting out how profits, losses and responsibilities are shared prevents most disputes later. Without one, the law assumes profits are split equally, which is not always what partners intend. We are not solicitors, but we work from your agreed split and can flag where you may want legal advice, including from our colleagues at WPC Lawyers.

Joint ventures

Joint ventures

A joint venture is where two or more businesses team up on a project or venture. It can be run as a partnership, through a contract, or through a separate joint venture company. Each route is taxed differently. We help you choose a sensible structure, keep the shared finances clean and make sure each side reports its position correctly. If a joint venture company is the right fit, we can set it up and handle its corporation tax and accounts too.
